As Chief Product Officer, Paul is responsible for defining product strategy and delivery across Emburse’s suite of travel and expense solutions.
Paul’s career has been solely focused on software companies focused on disrupting markets. Most recently, he served as the Chief Product Officer for Iris Software Group, delivering software solutions to the accountancy sector. In that role he was responsible for leading the product and user experience teams that designed, defined and delivered solutions for the U.S. and UK markets.
Prior to Iris Software Group, he held senior level positions at Omnitracs, CDK Global, ADP, Cobalt Group, Blue Roads, Selectica, Apple and NeXT Software.
He holds a BS in Economics from Santa Clara University.

With over 25 years of experience, Michele Shepard has led companies to record-setting revenue growth and scale with a passion for developing forward-thinking customer and employee engagement strategies across sales, marketing, and customer success.
Michele previously served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Paya (now Nuvei Corporation), a prominent integrated payment solutions provider. Before Paya, she was the Chief Revenue Officer at Insurity and Vertafore, where she played a pivotal role in implementing go-to-market plans that accelerated market expansion, achieved operational improvement, and drove profitable growth.
In addition to her corporate leadership roles, Michele has held several board and strategic advisory positions in the payments, fintech, and non-profit education and healthcare sectors, where she contributed to strategic planning and achieved notable results.

Chief Information Security Officer
Bill joined Emburse as Chief Information Security Officer in 2020. In this role, he is responsible for managing Emburse’s global responsibilities associated with information security, cyber risk, data privacy, IT compliance, and resiliency.
Bill has more than 25 years experience in information security, and prior to joining Emburse he held senior roles including CISO at ZoomInfo and Eze Software and VP of Cyber Security at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Bright Horizons Family Solutions.
Bill holds a BS in science, with concentrations in management and sociology from UMass Boston, as well as CISSP and CIPM certifications. He is also the Founding President of ISC2’s Eastern Massachusetts chapter.

Chief People Officer
As the chief people officer for Emburse, Danielle guides the strategic direction for the company’s employee development, performance management, talent acquisition, and employee experience initiatives.
Danielle has over 15 years of experience in human resources, working in various industries. She began her career with Emburse working for Certify and continued to build her team and her role through several mergers and acquisitions.
Danielle holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Education from Clark University. She also holds the Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society of Human Resources Management and is a graduate of the K1 Advanced Management Program.
What’s your why?
Watching people (whether it be employees, family, or friends) grow and improve their lives is something that brings me great joy. I have naturally taken on the role of confidante, mentor, and mediator in my life and with this role I’m also able to translate that into my work. Being able to use creativity and care in providing employees with the tools they need to further develop their own talents and find fulfillment in their careers is incredibly rewarding.
Chief Accounting Officer
Holly joined Emburse in 2022 and is responsible for treasury, payroll, multinational accounting and compliance, and financial reporting.
Holly has more than 15 years of accounting experience. Prior to joining Emburse, she held a variety of roles culminating in Director at PwC, where she served large multinational clients in technology, information and communications, consumer products, as well as high-growth technology startups. She has significant experience in M&A transactions, financial reporting, and leadership of global cross-functional teams.
She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Denver. She is a certified public accountant licensed in Colorado.

I have always loved to be a connector, whether it’s within my personal life or at work across departments. I enjoy learning what makes people tick, digesting their largest pain points, and working collaboratively to refine their processes.
