We’re delighted to have been listed by global technology analyst firm IDC as a “Leader” in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide SaaS and Cloud-enabled Travel and Expense (T&E) Management 2018 Vendor Assessment (doc #US43569218, February 2018). While we’ve known for years that Chrome River is one of – and in our opinion, the – best expense reporting and expense management software solution currently on the market, to have this validated by independent third-party experts and our own customers, is truly exciting.
IDC’s MarketScape was based on multiple factors, including speaking with customers, deep reviews of each solution’s technical background and functional capabilities, and in-depth conversations with each vendor’s own team. Unlike some product reviews, there’s no pay-for-play: positions are based entirely on the analyst’s findings.
We’ve invested heavily over the past several years in many innovations to make expense reporting easy for end users, and to streamline the expense management and reimbursement processes for financial teams. Whether it’s creating the best OCR solution to automatically extract transaction data from receipts, our mobile web app, which makes Chrome River easy to deploy and use across any platform on any device, or credit card integrations that eliminate the need to manually reconcile card transactions with receipts, we continue to find ways to make expense reporting easier.
We know that Chrome River delivers a great solution with superior service, but don’t take our word for it. IDC’s Senior Research Analyst, Digital Commerce and Enterprise Applications, Jordan Jewell, said that “Chrome River is one of few providers that has truly global capabilities,” and that “that any professional services firm, or a midmarket or large enterprise business with sophisticated expense management requirements, including global expense management, should strongly consider Chrome River.”

Our choice of Chrome River EXPENSE was made in part due to the very user-friendly interface, easy configurability, and the clear commitment to impactful customer service – all aspects in which Chrome River was the clear winner. While Chrome River is not as large as some of the other vendors we considered, we found that to be a benefit and our due diligence showed that it could support us as well as any large players in the space, along with a personalized level of customer care.
We are excited to be able to enforce much more stringent compliance to our expense guidelines and significantly enhance our expense reporting and analytics. By automating these processes, we will be able to free up AP time formerly spent on manual administrative tasks, and enhance the role by being much more strategic.
